Will GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads dry skin out?
GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads are formulated to exfoliate effectively without stripping skin. Are GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic-tested, and/or clinically proven?
Yes, our GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads have been tested by a third-party lab. We completed the Human Repeated Insult Patch Test on self-perceived sensitive skin subjects. Red Aspen GlowRefine is dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic-tested, and clinically shown to be non-irritating and gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Will GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads make my skin break out?
Our Exfoliating Pads are designed to gently remove dead skin and unclog pores—not cause breakouts. Some people may notice a little initial purging as skin adjusts, but it is normal and typically temporary. Discontinue use if you experience repeated irritation.
Can I use GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads on my neck, chest, and body?
Yes, you can swipe these exfoliating pads on your neck and chest for smooth, glowing skin. We don’t recommend using them on larger areas of the body as they’re formulated specifically for your face and delicate skin areas.
Are GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads single-use?
Yes, each exfoliating pad is pre-soaked and meant for one-time use to make your exfoliation quick, clean, and mess-free.
Is 3% AHA strong, or is it beginner-friendly?
The 3% AHA (also known as Glycolic Acid) in our GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads is gentle while still being effective. It’s perfect for daily or every-other-day use, and works to smooth texture and brighten without overwhelming your skin. If you’re new to chemical exfoliation, these pads are a great first step. Start by using 2-3 times each week and increase based on how well your skin tolerates the product.
Will my skin peel after using GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads?
You may notice subtle peeling as your skin renews, but don’t worry! It’s typically very mild. Your glow is just beneath the surface!
Do I need to wear sunscreen after using GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads?
You should always apply sunscreen after using exfoliating pads. AHAs make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so apply Red Aspen's MineralMilk Sunscreen during the day to protect fresh, glowing skin.

Please check with your healthcare provider for personalized advice during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Will GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads sting or tingle? Is it normal if they do?

Can I travel with the GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads full-size jar?

What is the difference between the GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads in the jar versus the pouch?

What is a chemical exfoliator vs. a physical exfoliator?
A chemical exfoliator uses skin-friendly acids (like AHAs, BHAs, or PHAs) to dissolve the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, allowing them to shed gently and evenly. A physical exfoliator relies on a texture you can feel (scrubs or cleansing tools) to manually buff away dead skin. Chemical exfoliators tend to be gentler, more consistent, and better for targeting concerns like dullness, uneven tone, and fine lines. Physical exfoliators offer immediate smoothing through manual polishing.
What is AHA vs. BHA? Why did Red Aspen develop an AHA exfoliator?
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) are both chemical exfoliants, but they work a little differently. AHAs, like glycolic acid, are water-soluble and work on the skin’s surface to smooth texture, brighten dullness, and support anti-aging benefits. BHAs, like salicylic acid, are oil-soluble and dive deeper into pores to target excess oil and blemishes. Red Aspen chose an AHA exfoliator to focus on enhancing radiance, improving firmness, and addressing visible signs of aging.
What are the ingredients in Red Aspen GlowRefine Exfoliating Pads?
Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Gluconolactone, Sodium Citrate, Potassium Hydroxide, Tromethamine, Dipropylene Glycol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Maltodextrin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Tranexamic Acid, Calcium Pantothenate, Urea, Houttuynia Cordata Extract, Magnesium Lactate, Papain, 1,2-Hexanediol, Potassium Lactate, Magnesium Chloride, Proline, Serine, Alanine, Disodium EDTA
How do I determine my skin type?
The easiest way to know your skin type is by first washing your face with a gentle cleanser. From there, pat your face dry and wait 15-30 minutes to assess how your skin feels naturally without any products.
If it feels tight, like you forgot to put on your moisturizer, you have a drier skin type. If after 30 minutes your skin feels slick, you likely have an oily skin type. Don’t stress! Neither of these is a bad thing!
On the flip side, if after 30 minutes you don't feel tight or slick, you’re among the lucky few who have what is characterized as a normal skin type, aka it feels balanced and comfortable, without excessive dryness or oiliness.
How do I know if I have sensitive skin?
You may have sensitive skin if you are prone to irritation and your skin has visible redness or feels itchy.
What do I need to know if I have sensitive skin?
For those with sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing on another area — like your neck or wrist — before fully applying skincare products to the face. If any irritation occurs, do not continue use of the product.
What do I do if I experience pilling or separation when I am applying skincare products?
If you’re experiencing pilling or separation when applying skincare products, you likely have used too much product and/or haven’t given enough time between skincare steps for each product to soak into the skin before moving onto the next.
What testing has Red Aspen done for its skincare products?
Red Aspen has conducted either RIPT testing or RIPT testing with self-perceived sensitive skin subjects on the following skincare products: MineralMilk Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50, DewRenew Snail Mucin Serum, and RefreshGel Facial Cleanser.
What is RIPT/HRIPT testing?
RIPT testing (Repeat Insult Patch Test), also known as HRIPT testing (Human Repeat Insult Patch Test) assesses a product's potential to cause skin irritation and allergic reactions after repeated exposure. It’s conducted by a third-party independent lab.
RIPT testing supports claims like: “clinically tested,” "Dermatologist tested,” “non-irritating,” “did not cause irritation or sensitization in a clinical test,” or “non-sensitizing.”
RIPT testing with self-perceived sensitive skin subjects in addition to this supports the following claims: “hypoallergenic,” “suitable for sensitive skin,” and "clinically tested to be gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin.”
Important: Please note that not every product was tested on sensitive skin. Please refer to each product’s individual FAQ to see if it was tested on sensitive skin.
Are Red Aspen skincare products non-comedogenic?
Determining if a product is "non-comedogenic" involves a specific test to determine if a skincare product is formulated not to clog pores, a common cause of acne and blackheads. This is a test we usually complete only for makeup products, like our Skin Tint.
What is consumer perception testing? Does Red Aspen plan to complete consumer perception tests in the future?
Consumer perception testing is a type of research where real people — usually target customers — try a product and share their opinions on how it looks, how it feels, how it performs, or how it affects their skin. We have not conducted any consumer perception testing, but never say “Never.”
What does it mean when a product says “clinically tested”?
“Clinically tested” concentrates on safety — confirming the product doesn’t cause irritation or sensitization when used on skin.
