Give your skin the care it deserves with Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50. This Aspen Verified, mineral-based formula uses zinc oxide to provide powerful UVA/UVB protection while a blend of antioxidants helps defend against environmental stressors. Lightweight, serum-like, and easy to apply, MineralMilk™ melts into your skin for a smooth, natural finish with minimal visible trace.

Skin Prep
Start with a clean, moisturized face and neck. Apply your favorite moisturizer or DewRenew Serum and let it soak in for 1-2 minutes. This ensures the sunscreen goes on evenly, without clinging to dry skin.

Application
You can apply Red Aspen's MineralMilk™ Sunscreen in two ways: on its own or mixed with your preferred shade of Skin Tint.

Application Technique A - MineralMilk Sunscreen Alone

1. Start with a pea-sized amount in your hand, or apply a line of MineralMilk on both your index and middle fingers.
2. Apply the SPF evenly to your face and neck with your fingers, then press it into your skin to make sure everything’s even.

Pro Tip: If needed, use a makeup sponge for an even application and to remove any excess product.

Application Technique B - MineralMilk + Skin Tint

1. Apply the proper amount of MineralMilk Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 and a pea-sized amount of Skin Tint to the back of your hand.
2. Using your finger, mix the products together to create a tinted SPF. Warmth from your skin will help the products combine evenly and create a more natural finish.
3. Dab the mixed products evenly around the entire face with your fingers.
4. Gently blend the product into skin, like a moisturizer, until your entire face is evenly covered. Make sure to blend around your hairline and ears with a brush or damp sponge.
5. Bring mixed product down onto your neck with your fingers, or apply products to face and neck separately.
6. For fuller coverage, wait 1 minute for the mixture to set into the skin. Then, apply concealer as normal, or apply an additional layer of Skin Tint with a damp sponge or brush until you reach your desired coverage.

Zinc Oxide to help protect your skin from sun damage or premature aging.
Niacinamide to help reduce skin discoloration and uneven skin tone.
Ferulic Acid to help stimulate collagen production and improve your skin’s appearance.
Astaxanthin to help shield your skin from harmful UV rays and promote better skin healing.

What is Red Aspen's MineralMilk™ Sunscreen?

Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ Sunscreen SPF 50 is a lightweight, broad spectrum mineral sunscreen, that helps shield your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, and is enriched with powerful antioxidants like zinc oxide, niacinamide, ferulic acid, and astaxanthin to help reduce skin discoloration, improve the look of your skin, and promote better overall skin healing.

How does mineral sunscreen work?

Mineral sunscreen works by sitting on the skin’s surface to block and reflect harmful UV rays.

Does MineralMilk™ contain any harsh chemicals or fragrances?

Great news! MineralMilk™ is free of silicones, PEGs, and fragrance.

What is the difference between mineral sunscreen versus a chemical sunscreen?

Chemical sunscreens protect your skin using synthetic organic compounds like avobenzone or oxybenzone. Chemical sunscreens penetrate the top layers of your skin and absorb UV rays, then neutralize those rays and convert them to heat through a chemical reaction.

Mineral sunscreens, also known as physical sunscreen, tend to be gentler. They protect your skin using natural minerals like zinc oxide. Mineral sunscreen sits on TOP of the skin and acts like a shield, reflecting and scattering the sun’s rays to help to lessen the potential for skin irritation.

What does SPF rating mean?

SPF refers to a sunscreen’s “Sun Protection Factor” rating, which indicates how well a sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays that can cause sunburn.

It tells you how much longer you can stay in the sun without burning compared to not wearing sunscreen. Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ Sunscreen is an SPF 50 formula. That means you can be in the sun 50 times longer before you start to redden than if you had no protection.

Can Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ protect against all types of UV rays?

Yes, Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ Sunscreen provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. UVB rays primarily cause sunburn and can directly damage the skin’s surface, while UVA rays penetrate deeper, contributing to skin aging and long-term damage.

Has Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen been clinically tested?

Yes, Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ Sunscreen has been clinically-tested and dermatologist-tested, so you can be assured we put time and effort into making sure we got the formula right. Plus, it makes for a great base, meaning you can apply this sunscreen and let it absorb before using your Skin Tint for added protection and a flawless finish. The MineralMilk™ is that versatile!

Can I use Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen on sensitive skin?

While our MineralMilk™ Sunscreen formula was not specifically tested on sensitive skin, it is dermatologist-tested to be non-irritating for most skin types. However, if you have specific skin concerns, we recommend doing a patch test behind the ear or on the wrist before using the product fully.

Is Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen suitable for all skin tones?

MineralMilk™ is formulated and tested for a lightweight finish on most skin tones with minimal visible trace. The formula provides effective sun protection without compromising on performance.

Is Red Aspen MineralMilk™ suitable for all skin types?

MineralMilk™ is suitable for all skin types, providing a nourishing, protective barrier from UV rays whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin.

Important: Please note, MineralMilk™ has not been specifically tested for sensitive or acne prone skin.

When should I apply MineralMilk™ Sunscreen?

Apply MineralMilk™ as the final step in your skincare routine, before applying makeup.

How often should I apply MineralMilk™?

Reapply every 2 hours if outside (even if it’s cloudy), or as needed during the day.

Can I wear MineralMilk™ under makeup?

Absolutely! Mineral sunscreen provides a great base, especially when paired with our Skin Tint, for added protection and a flawless finish. For the best results, we recommend waiting until the MineralMilk™ has absorbed into the skin before applying makeup to avoid any pilling or separation.

Is MineralMilk™ Sunscreen suitable for daily use?

Absolutely! Red Aspen’s MineralMilk™ Sunscreen provides broad-spectrum protection and is gentle on the skin, making it ideal for everyday wear and an essential part of any skincare routine.

Is Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen water resistant?

MineralMilk™ is not water resistant, and we recommend using a water-resistant sunscreen for swimming or sweating.

Is MineralMilk™ Sunscreen just for the face or can it be used on your body?

MineralMilk™ is specially formulated as a face sunscreen, however you can use it on the body for broad protection. It’s your choice!

Is Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen moisturizing?

While Red Aspen’s mineral sunscreen does provide some hydration, it’s primarily designed to protect the skin from sun exposure. For further hydration, we recommend applying Red Aspen DewRenew Snail Mucin Serum or your favorite moisturizer before MineralMilk™.

Is Red Aspen’s mineral sunscreen reef-safe?

Red Aspen MineralMilk™ contains zinc oxide which is generally regarded as safer for reefs. However, without official certifications, we recommend reviewing ingredient guidelines.

Is it ok to apply MineralMilk™ near or around the eyes?

No. Always avoid using our mineral sunscreen in the immediate eye area.

What should I do if I experience pilling or separation when applying makeup after MineralMilk™ Sunscreen?

If you’re experiencing pilling or separation when applying your makeup after MineralMilk, you’ve likely used too much product and/or haven’t given enough time between application steps for each product to soak in.

For the best results, apply a pea-sized amount to the face and wait a few moments before applying Skin Tint or any other makeup product.

How do I use Red Aspen Skin Tint and MineralMilk™ together?

  1. Apply the proper amount of MineralMilk Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 & a pea-sized amount of Skin Tint to the back of your hand.
  2. Mix together with your finger, essentially creating a tinted SPF.
  5. Bring mixed product down onto your neck with your fingers or apply products to face and neck separately.
  6. For fuller coverage, wait 1 minute for the mixture to set into the skin. Then, apply concealer as normal, or apply a little more Skin Tint with a damp sponge or brush until you reach your desired coverage.

Is Red Aspen MineralMilk™ a tinted sunscreen?

Red Aspen MineralMilk™ has a subtle peachy-pink hue, but absorbs clear, leaving a natural finish on the skin. For skin coverage or tint, you can apply Red Aspen Skin Tint afterwards, or mix the appropriate amount of our mineral sunscreen with your preferred shade of Skin Tint.

How do I apply Red Aspen MineralMilk™ Sunscreen?

Skin Prep

Start with a clean, moisturized face and neck. Apply your favorite moisturizer and/or DewRenew Serum and let it soak in for 1-2 minutes. This ensures the sunscreen goes on evenly, without clinging to dry skin.

How do I determine my skin type?

The easiest way to know your skin type is by first washing your face with a gentle cleanser. From there, pat your face dry and wait 15-30 minutes to assess how your skin feels naturally without any products.

If it feels tight, like you forgot to put on your moisturizer, you have a drier skin type. If after 30 minutes your skin feels slick, you likely have an oily skin type. Don’t stress! Neither of these is a bad thing!

On the flip side, if after 30 minutes you don't feel tight or slick, you’re among the lucky few who have what is characterized as a normal skin type, aka it feels balanced and comfortable, without excessive dryness or oiliness.

How do I know if I have sensitive skin?

You may have sensitive skin if you are prone to irritation and your skin has visible redness or feels itchy.

What do I need to know if I have sensitive skin?

For those with sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing on another area — like your neck or wrist — before fully applying skincare products to the face. If any irritation occurs, do not continue use of the product.

What do I do if I experience pilling or separation when I am applying skincare products?

If you’re experiencing pilling or separation when applying skincare products, you likely have used too much product and/or haven’t given enough time between skincare steps for each product to soak into the skin before moving onto the next.

What testing has Red Aspen done for its skincare products?

Red Aspen has conducted either RIPT testing or RIPT testing with self-perceived sensitive skin subjects on the following skincare products: MineralMilk Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50, DewRenew Snail Mucin Serum, and RefreshGel Facial Cleanser.

What is RIPT/HRIPT testing?

RIPT testing (Repeat Insult Patch Test), also known as HRIPT testing (Human Repeat Insult Patch Test) assesses a product's potential to cause skin irritation and allergic reactions after repeated exposure. It’s conducted by a third-party independent lab.

RIPT testing supports claims like: “clinically tested,” "Dermatologist tested,” “non-irritating,” “did not cause irritation or sensitization in a clinical test,” or “non-sensitizing.”

RIPT testing with self-perceived sensitive skin subjects in addition to this supports the following claims: “hypoallergenic,” “suitable for sensitive skin,” and "clinically tested to be gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin.”

Important: Please note that not every product was tested on sensitive skin. Please refer to each product’s individual FAQ to see if it was tested on sensitive skin.

Are Red Aspen skincare products non-comedogenic?

Determining if a product is "non-comedogenic" involves a specific test to determine if a skincare product is formulated not to clog pores, a common cause of acne and blackheads. This is a test we usually complete only for makeup products, like our Skin Tint.

What is consumer perception testing? Does Red Aspen plan to complete consumer perception tests in the future?

Consumer perception testing is a type of research where real people — usually target customers — try a product and share their opinions on how it looks, how it feels, how it performs, or how it affects their skin. We have not conducted any consumer perception testing, but never say “Never.”

What does it mean when a product says “clinically tested”?

“Clinically tested” concentrates on safety — confirming the product doesn’t cause irritation or sensitization when used on skin.
