Oh, and be sure to check out our blog on fabulous, Beginner-friendly Eyeshadow Looks as well! We’ve got a lot of great, easy-to-digest info there, so you’ll want to add it to your bookmarks when you get the chance. With that said, let’s get down to the first of our must-try pressed powder eyeshadow looks.
The L.O.V.E. Technique
The L.O.V.E. technique is one of our most-loved eyeshadow looks here at Red Aspen. Its convenient acronym helps you remember what steps to complete, making it a perfect go-to style! Grab your Eyeshadow Blending Brush (E54 ), Eyeshadow Crease Brush (E55 ) and a Medium Eyeshadow Lid Brush (E56 )! Oh, and you’ll need four Red Aspen Pressed Powder shades to achieve this look. We recommend Zen, Uplift, Treasured, and Generous.
L: Level Out the Base
Start by priming your eyelid using concealer, setting powder, or your favorite eyeshadow primer. Using your Eyeshadow Blending Brush (E54), apply a light, neutral matte shade like Zen all over your lid. Carry any remaining product through your crease and up to your brow bone. The goal is to create an even base to build your other shades on top of!
O: Ombre Your Crease
Pick up a medium shade, like Uplift, on your Eyeshadow Crease Brush (E55) and start to work it into your crease using a back and forth windshield wiper motion. This will help give your look a blended finish.
V: V in the Outer Corner
Add definition to your look by defining the outer V of your eye with a matte shadow, like Treasured. For a more dramatic look, use your Eyeshadow Crease Brush (E55) in a stamping motion. For a softer blown out look, try using your Eyeshadow Blending Brush (E54) in a circular motion.
E: Enhance the Lid
Now it’s time to complete your eye by really enhancing your lid space. Complete your eye by Select a lighter matte or shimmer eyeshadow shade, like Generous, and press it onto the lid using your fingertip or a Medium Eyeshadow Lid Brush (E56).
The Halo Method
If you love a glowy, glam eyeshadow look — then the Halo technique (also called the Sandwich Method) is perfect for you! All you need is an Eyeshadow Crease Brush (E55), a Medium Eyeshadow Lid Brush (E56), and two Pressed Powder shades of your choice! For this look, Charming and Flourish work wonderfully together.
Step One
Apply a light shimmer shade (Charming) to the center of your lid using your Eyeshadow Crease Brush (E55).
Step Two
Using your E56, pick up a medium-to-dark matte shade (Flourish) and apply it to either shade of the shimmer, blending it towards the center. This is where the “sandwich” comes in!
Step Three
Apply your favorite setting spray to your eyeshadow look to enhance the Halo effect. If you want even more shimmer, reapply some of your shimmer shade back to the center of your lid using your fingertip or a dampened Medium Eyeshadow Lid Brush (E56).
Level Up Your Look
If you want to add test your skills even further, try adding a liner, winged liner, smokey liner, or colored liner to each of these looks using the following steps:
Add Mascara or False Lashes
Lastly, grab your favorite Red Aspen Mascara or false lashes. For a full rundown on choosing and applying the right false lashes for you, check out our blog on Everything You Need to Know About Red Aspen False Lashes!
