As a beauty company, Red Aspen is always looking for new and exciting ways to celebrate the many women of diverse cultures and backgrounds that make up our customers, Brand Ambassadors, and Affiliates. Each has their own story about where they came from and what brought them to Red Aspen, and we always look forward to highlighting their journeys!
This is especially true for our iconic line of premium Nail Dashes, as each box represents someone special to the Red Aspen community. Fresh off another exciting Girls Weekend event in Indianapolis, Indiana, we knew we wanted to do something special to celebrate this amazing community and its diversity.
That’s why this holiday season, we’re hitting the ground running with some truly unique Nail Dashes, each inspired and designed by women from different cultures within the Red Aspen community. We’re starting with a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, so read more below to learn more about Red Aspen’s all-new Dìa De Los Muertos Nail Dash collection!
Why Is Red Aspen Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month?
At Red Aspen, we’re all about inclusivity, and it’s at the heart of everything we do to serve our customers, Brand Ambassadors, and Affiliates. Our Beauty Inclusion Council is composed of talented women of color, as well as women of different sizes, ages, and backgrounds, and their ideas work to help further develop Red Aspen’s line of inclusive and award-winning beauty products. We couldn’t do what we do without them, and thanks to their efforts, we’re able to continue to provide products that you can feel confident sharing with your friends and family.
To continue enhancing these inclusivity efforts, we’re taking this opportunity to celebrate our Hispanic community members in a unique and exciting way. The Hispanic culture is vibrant and full of life, so why not honor it with a collection inspired by one of its biggest holidays, Dìa De Los Muertos!
What Is Dìa De Los Muertos?
Dìa De Los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” is a traditional Mexican holiday that unites the living and the dead. It dates back thousands of years, and It’s traditionally celebrated on November 1st and November 2nd of every year. In Mexican culture, death isn’t considered the end of one’s existence, but rather another chapter in their life.
Instead of grieving their dead, Mexicans celebrate them, honoring the memories and lives of those closest to them with this special holiday. Common elements include an ofrenda (or altar/display to honor lost loved ones), marigold flowers, calaveras (sugar skulls), papel picado (paper banners), and candles, with mementos of lost loved ones being a key focal point.
Red Aspen’s Dìa De Los Muertos Nail Dash Collection
To better capture the spirit and vibrancy of Latino culture and Dìa De Los Muertos, our team knew we wanted to create a nail dash collection designed by women of Mexican descent. The end result is one of our most unique collections yet, and it includes:
Luz, Estás En Mi Corazón
Inspired by the nail artist’s own great-grandmother, Red Aspen’s Luz, Estás En Mi Corazón Nail Dash is a vibrant, medium coffin nail with a universal nude base, a white french tip, and rich, yellow, pink, and orange flowers that honor the spirit and spunkiness of Grandma Luz or “LuLu.” The name translates to “Luz, you are in my heart,” and it serves as a special reminder to the artist’s family and anyone wearing these nails that Grandma LuLu is always there.
La Catrina, Victoria
Inspired by the “abuelita” or grandmother of another talented nail artist, La Catrina, Victoria is the other half of Red Aspen’s Dìa De Los Muertos collection. She’s a medium almond nail with a pink nail base and a richly detailed sugar skull design, and her vibrant colors pay homage to the pink, pearl, turquoise, and neutral colors so beloved by the artist’s grandmother. With La Catrina being such a recognized symbol for the holiday, it was a perfect fit!

The Artists Behind Red Aspen’s Dìa De Los Muertos Nail Dashes
Tori Ganzeles
As the designer of Red Aspen’s Luz, Estás En Mi Corazón Nail Dash, Tori Gonzales was thrilled for her chance to add something special to this collection. Dìa De Los Muertos has always been a special holiday for her, as it gives her a chance to feel more connected to her roots and Mexican heritage.
She often celebrates the holiday with her family, with ofrendas, mementoes, and food to honor her loved ones. As a native of Kansas, Tori is currently a student at Kansas University, splitting her time between school, her work as a personal assistant, and time spent as a licensed real estate agent.
Victoria King
As the artist behind La Catrina, Victoria, Victoria King is a native of Idaho, where she adores spending her time painting murals, canvases, and nail art. She loves going outside the box and pushing her boundaries as an artist, and she’s proud to say her art has even been published in magazines!
When Victoria heard about Red Aspen’s mission to create nail designs for Dìa De Los Muertos, she jumped at the opportunity, as she loved that “the nails represented getting time back with your loved ones, even if it’s just for a day or two.” As a single mother, she also loved that these nails represented women coming together to support one another and create something beautiful as a community.
Celebrate Life and Loved Ones with the Dìa De Los Muertos Nail Dash Collection from Red Aspen
